The Hyperion Watchmen are a City of Heroes supergroup currently consisting of 8 members (as of 11/03/07), and dedicated to the goal of uncovering the plot of "Who killed Hyperion Star", and preventing their own, quite possably untimely deaths.

A bit of background, methinks!

Hyperion Star was one of the many superheroes that imhabited Paragon City. His deeds were great, even if his name occasionally got lossed in the mass of superheroic identities. Unfortunatly, it seems that he made a number of enemies, one, or possably more, of which decided that it was time to get the hero out of their business for good.

And that's exactly what happened. Hyperion Star was attacked, and a strange device was half-inserted into him, leaving him dieing on the round. Emergency teams from the nearby Chiron Medical Hospital rushed the hero into their A&E ward but, before he could be saved, a combonation of his powers and the device caused a massive explosion, destroying all of the hospital's upper areas.

Not everyone who was at the hospital died that day, however. A few individuals broke free of the rubble and chaos, fleeing the scene in fear and confusion. These individuals later found they were different to how they were prior to, what has become known as, The Incident.

No-one knows exactly how many survived, and, strangely, very few even know about the explosion, the Paragon Times having reported it as a "gas leak" that caused the destruction. So, whoever it was that killed Hyperion Star has done an amazing job of covering up the event. Rumers are circulating amongst the Watchmen as to who could have done this. The Council? Crey? even Longbow were considered!

So, a small group of the survivors, having met up at a memorial for the Incident's victims, have dedicated their lives, and their newfound abilities, to uncovering who, or what, caused the event to occur. But that is not all! The Watchmen may be on borrowed time! It seems that a couple of others who were at the hospital, and themselves developed super-poweres have died because of them....

Still, even knowing they may not live through the weeks ahead, the Watchmen still strive to uncover the secrets of Hyperion Star's assassination, and find a cure for themselves
